Terms of Service
Outpost: Language Learning · Last updated October 20, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Outpost mobile application (“Outpost”, “the app”). By using Outpost, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The service
Outpost provides language-learning features built around articles from third-party news publishers. We may adapt text to your selected reading level using automated tools. We link to original publisher content where available. We do not operate those publishers and are not responsible for their sites or policies.
Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and comply with applicable laws.
Subscriptions and purchases
Paid features, when offered, are billed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled under Apple’s terms and your Apple ID settings. Subscription terms (price, duration, free trial if any) are shown in the app before you purchase.
Acceptable use
- Do not misuse the app, attempt to break security, or interfere with other users or our systems.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute publisher content except as the app allows.
- Do not use the app for unlawful purposes.
Intellectual property
Outpost’s software, branding, and original materials are owned by us or our licensors. Publisher articles and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Your use of adapted text is for personal learning as permitted in the app.
Disclaimers
Outpost is provided “as is” for learning purposes. Adapted text and AI-generated learning content may contain errors. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties not required by applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Outpost. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars if you paid nothing.
Termination
You may stop using Outpost at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service.
Changes
We may update these Terms. We will revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Apple
Outpost is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the app on iOS is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement where Apple is the licensor of the app binary.
